Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS)
Vivinal® GOS is a concentrated soluble galacto-oligosaccharide fibre produced using proprietary enzymatic technology. These non-digestible prebiotics serve as a selective substrate for beneficial gut bacteria, particularly bifidobacteria. The ingredient contains a spectrum of oligosaccharide chains from DP2 to DP8, or 2 to 8 galactose units. Its taste is slightly sweet. Derived from milk lactose, this powder consists of 97% milk solids: 69% GOS, 23% lactose and other disaccharides, and 5% glucose and galactose.
N-Acetylcysteine
N-acetyl-L-cysteine of Ph. Eur. and USP grade, obtained by synthesis-fermentation from L-cysteine of non-animal origin. The acetyl group stabilises the molecule: free L-cysteine oxidises spontaneously, whereas the acetylated form stays intact in solution. Once absorbed, it releases cysteine, the sulphur amino acid that laboratory work describes as rate-limiting in glutathione synthesis. White crystalline powder, freely soluble in water.
PQQ
MGCPQQ® is a pyrroloquinoline quinone disodium dihydrate of more than 99% purity, produced by fermenting a strain of Hyphomicrobium denitrificans. PQQ is a redox cofactor with a tricyclic aromatic structure, naturally present in trace amounts in foods such as kiwi, parsley, green tea and breast milk. This form provides the stability and solubility sought for oral use and is the form used in the majority of published clinical trials. Manufactured by Mitsubishi Gas Chemical.
Sulforaphane
Sulfodyne® is a broccoli seed extract (Brassica oleracea var. italica) patented by Ingood by Olga, standardized for free, stabilized sulforaphane. Most broccoli extracts supply glucoraphanin, an inactive precursor that gut flora must hydrolyse to release sulforaphane, a conversion that depends on the microbiome and on gastric acidity. A patented stabilization process delivers the isothiocyanate directly in its active form, with no intermediate enzymatic step. European seed origin, manufactured in France.
